Elizabeth Klinge Moves to Iowa
Elizabeth Klinge was born and raised on an Iowa farm near the town of Elkader, Iowa. These early years fostered a solid work ethic in her and tied her to the community, reflecting on her future career. She received her BA in Journalism from the University of Iowa with honors and distinction in 2005.
Klinge joined WHO 13 News in Des Moines straight out of college, where she would go on to work as a reporter and anchor for almost seven years. Her passion for storytelling and relating to the audience cemented her as one of Iowa’s most trusted news personalities. She moved to Chicago, Illinois, to work as a freelance on-camera talent for Grossman & Jack Talent, furthering her professional scope.
In 2013, Klinge returned to her Iowa roots when she joined the KCCI 8 News in Des Moines. Since then, over the past five years, Klinge has created a name for herself as a gifted journalist with an apparent passion for compelling storytelling.
Klinge made her leap to Sacramento, California in 2018 when she joined KOVR-TV. Over the last three years, she is one of the loved anchors and reporters, making Sacramento her second home. Her time here was marked with quality journalism, even in the test of time brought forth by the pandemic.

In her broadcasting career, Klinge has received recognition with a best morning newscast Emmy Award from the Upper Midwest Regional and has been nominated for news anchoring.
And now, after just over three years, Elizabeth Klinge leaves KOVR-TV to return home to Iowa. She will join KWWL News 7 to co-anchor the 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. newscasts.
Furthermore, Klinge wrapped up her last day at KOVR CBS Sacramento on March 31, 2023, and will debut on Waterloo’s KWWL News 7 on April 7, 2023. And she will be an integral part of the evening anchor team of Ron Steele and Collin Dorsey.
