It’s MTV Movie Awards time (now called MTV Movie & TV Awards) and there’s a lot happening on the big night! There’s so much happening, in fact, that we don’t even know where to start! But as usual, we’re here to give you just what you need.
Is your Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) kicking in? Not on our watch! We’ve got you covered on everything you need to know about the big night, including the MTV Movie Awards channel, presenters and more!
What Time and Channel are the MTV Movie Awards on Tonight?
Are you scratching your head wondering, “When are the MTV Movie Awards 2017?” We’ve got your back. The MTV Movie & TV Awards take place tonight, Sunday, May 7, at 8:00 p.m. EST! What channel are the MTV Movie Awards tonight? Check online or your TV guide for your local MTV network listing. Don’t miss out, because you can also expect a sneak peek of Spider-Man: Homecoming, as well as the terrifying killer clown remake, It!
Who is Hosting the MTV Movie Awards Tonight?
Who’s in charge of hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards this year? Drum roll please! It’s none other than Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates star, Adam Devine! The 33-year-old is at the top of his game and after his work on Modern Family and Workaholics, the young comedian is finally getting to join the ranks of Kevin Hart and Amy Schumer, whom have both hosted the awards show in the past.
Who is Presenting at the MTV Movie Awards 2017?
There’s no shortage of famous faces that will be in the audience at the MTV Movie & TV Awards and we can almost guarantee that there may be a Kardashian or Jenner on the guest list—they’re everywhere! So far, the list of presenters include: Get Out‘s Allison Williams, Wonder Woman‘s Gal Gadot, Snatched‘s Amy Schumer, Baywatch‘s Zac Efron, Hailee Steinfeld, and Snoop Dogg. The cast of 13 Reasons Why, Alexandra Daddario, and Cara Delevingne have also been confirmed to hand out awards.
The first presenter (who is responsible for changing up the categories this year and from now on) is Billions star, Asia Kate Dillon, who is also the first gender non-binary identifying actor (whose pronoun is “they” or “them”) to star on a major TV show.
Dillon made headlines and history earlier with an open letter to the TV Academy, urging them to get rid of gender-specific categories; and the MTV Movie & TV Awards did just that! It looks like MTV just went co-ed and now all the categories are for actors, not based on male or female.
The show is furthering inclusion, diversity, and awareness this year with the newly added ‘Best Fight Against the System’ and ‘Best American Story’ categories, as well as Next Generation and Tearjerker awards. We can expect This is Us to win for that last one, since they made us cry all season and call in sick every damn week since it aired!
The cast of the Fast and Furious will be receiving the MTV Generation Award (the first time it’s gone to a group instead of an individual) for it’s successful eight-movie franchise.
MTV explained their choice: “From the extremely diverse cast to the perfect balance of action and romance, the Fast and Furious franchise has had a significant impact on pop culture and continues to entertain millions of fans across the world.” Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, and Tyrese Gibson will accept the award on behalf of the film franchise.

While stars like Taraji P. Henson, Camilla Cabello, Emma Watson, Josh Gad, Rebel Wilson, RuPaul, Trevor Noah, and Millie Bobby Brown are set to attend, the list of performers are just as good.
The performers in charge of getting you out of your seats include Pitbull, J. Balvin, Big Sean, and Noah Cyrus, and those are just to name a few! Tune in to MTV tonight at 8:00 p.m. to catch all the action, stars, and of course, the red carpet bonanzas!
