Edwin Arroyave’s Childhood
Edwin Arroyave was born on April 19, 1977, in Bogotá, Colombia. His family moved to the United States for work shortly after his birth. When he was six years old, Edwin and his older sister, Adriana, moved to Los Angeles for a better opportunity.
Edwin was very excited to move to the U.S. He grew up watching a lot of Hollywood movies in Colombia, and it was a dream come true for him and his family. However, that dream didn’t last very long.
Two weeks after he moved, law enforcement officials raided their house to arrest his father and mother. At that time, they were living in Glendora, California. He admitted in an interview, his father was involved in drug trafficking.
At a very young age, Edwin was under a lot of pressure to take financial responsibility for his family and to become the “man of the house.” So, at the age of 15, he started looking for a job while he attended high school at Huntington Park.
His quest for work landed him a job as a telemarketer at a long-distance company. While working there, Edwin broke every one of the firm’s sales records.
Edwin’s employer noticed his excellent marketing skills. So, he ended up becoming a national trainer and supervisor of over 60 people.
The dashing Colombia native never went to college. Instead of learning about business in the classroom, he learned the ins and outs of the business world by actually working with successful people.
Edwin Arroyave’s Family Life
Edwin Arroyave’s parents were arrested because of suspicion of drug trafficking. His mother was acquitted after three months, but his father wasn’t released until eight months later. However, things didn’t get better for them as they would get raided every 15 months.
When Edwin was 10 years old, officials checked his house for the last time and found his dad guilty and put him in prison for 10 years. It was a big shock to Edwin, as he had always admired his father and looked up to him.
Besides having an older sister, Edwin also has a younger brother and a younger sister. And his family had a lot of financial troubles.
At one point in his life, his family of five had to live in a single bedroom because they were broke. That’s when Edwin decided to take responsibility to change things for him and his family.

Edwin Arroyave is married to reality star and daughter of rock legend John Mellencamp, Teddi Mellencamp. Talking about how they met, Teddi said that it actually started with a one-night stand!

Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave dated before tying the knot in 2011 in Paris. The couple now have two kids together—Slate Arroyave, 6, and Cruz Arroyave, 4. Isabella “Bella” Arroyave, 10, is Edwin’s daughter, from his previous marriage.
What Does Edwin Arroyave Do for a Living?
Edwin works very hard. Not only did he want to achieve his dream of making a $100,000, but he was also afraid to lose his job.
At the age of 18, Edwin started earning $800.00 a week and oversaw 36 people. Because of his hard work, he became the right-hand of the VP of sales for that company.
When Edwin was 21 years old, his VP had an idea and proposal for him. He told Edwin that he had resigned and was planning to start an alarm company and wanted his help to build it up.
In 1994, Edwin worked as a sales manager at L.D. Services Inc. Then, five years later, he and his partner started a security business, Nee Security Inc., with operations that expanded as far as Puerto Rico.
Although the company was very successful, Edwin and his partner decided to part ways and closed the firm in 2002. From 2002 to 2004, he was president of E & E Security.
In 2004, Edwin started his own firm called Skyline Security Management and became its CEO. His company earned recognition in the industry within a few years.
The firm is located in Downey, California, and it maintains and monitors security system devices such as burglar and fire alarms.
Edwin spoke about what motivated him to get into the security industry and said, “I love the money part of it. But I also saw the demand for it. Growing up in Huntington Park, I saw many burglaries, and I just felt good about being able to do something. I honestly felt like I was protecting clients and helping them avoid a burglary from happening.”
Skyline Security System is licensed and operates in 30 states across the nation.
Edwin is a member of the Bel Air Chapter of YPO (Young Presidents Organization). He also appears on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alongside his wife.

Edwin’s hard work and diligence have definitely earned him plenty of recognition and awards. In 2011, Edwin and his firm earned several Elite Advantage Awards, as well as Interlogix Awards.
Edwin Arroyave again took home Elite Advantage Awards in 2012 and 2013. He also won a Teleguard Award in 2012.
Edwin and Teddi Dish Out $4.0 Million on New House
In January 2018, Edwin and Teddi bought a beautiful five-bedroom, six-bathroom home in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles for $4.0 million. The spacious pad is close to castmate Kyle Richards’ $8.0 million home
The couple’s modern 5,240-square-foot home has panoramic views of the city and ocean. In addition to a gym, office, and swimming pool, it also has a security system. No word as to whether or not Edwin is going to replace it with one of his own.
In April 2019, it was announced that Edwin and Teddi were selling one of their other homes, also located in the Mount Olympus area of Los Angeles, for $3.2 million. If you don’t have that kind of cash, you can rent it for just $17,000 per month. The 2,918-square-foot home was featured in Teddi’s first season on RHOBH.
